This new set of flute duets by Carmen Marulanda, in the line of her previous books for the instrument, brings us an inspiring new selection of rhythms from Latin America: a Milonga from Argentina; a Danza and a Bambuco from Colombia.
The melodies develop over textures of arpeggios and rhythmic motifs; the three contrasting musical genres take shape in a colorful interaction between the alto and soprano flutes.
A step beyond the didactic flute books she has published previously, these duets offer a rich musical experience with Latin American rhythms; greater freedom of interpretation and creative, dynamic playing.
