Pajarillo de la Culebra (1989), is the first movement of a Venezuelan Quintet for flute, oboe, violin, cello and cuatro, the strummed four- string guitar of the Orinoco basin, spanning Venezuela and Colombia. This is precisely the region in which the Pajarillo, a song and dance form, is a predominant musical expression.
